So I have some thick hairy algae in my tank but it’s on only one rock, and little bit on another small rock at the bottom but is there any reason it would appear mostly only on this rock?

Conditions are good in those spots or it is just starting to grow there and will spread to other rocks over time.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
