AliExpress A8SE Reef Light

Do these lights have the moonlight similar to the radion’s? I know most people probably don’t care but I am thinking of running one of these along side my current xr30.

They have the exact same warm and cool white diodes. The Max just has twice as many of each. The Max also has red and green, but the Blue has sky blue. You should be able to achieve nearly identical colors on both lights at low to moderate intensities. It's just at high intensities (everything cranked near 100) that differences will emerge, due to the inability to compensate for different diode ratios by turning down specific colors. I believe the Blue is designed to create an AB+ look at 100% output, whereas the Max will have a whiter look at 100%. I went with the Max because I like a whiter light, but I can still easily achieve any look I want because I don't need to run them at 100%.
Yeah, looked at all the details but still unsure.

When you say you have the MAX, what intensity do you run at peak?

you can run the LED at 1% and i find that running the cool white and warm white at 1% makes a really nice moonlight. I am just not sure is there any issue running them at such a low intensity

Thanks they do have an AB+ schedule similar to the radions, correct?

I'm just starting my tank, so I don't have anything dialed in yet. But it's only a 25g, so I won't need anywhere near full power. If you're running the lights closer to full power, the choice becomes more important.

I'd be hoping to run them as low as possible ideally. 60% max would be nice as they would be over a 2ft cube.

After a lot of research and back and forth I pulled the trigger and actually got the A8 Pro II (which based on their description, is the one similar to the G6).
Last weekend I was at my LFS and I happened to noticed that the lights they have in their main display tank had they A8 stickers on it, so not actually Radions - for the longest I didn't pay attention and I always thought they were Radions.
I spoke withi the owner for a while and he actually said they are exactly the same and showed me the configuration, so I decided to give them a try. These are the ones I bought, but I went for A8 PRO II Blue.

Anyone mounting these on smaller tanks with 5-6mm glass? I'm worried with the weight of the light if it's too much to use an RMS mount. Not sure if I will have to hang it or if it's ok.

I have a Nuvo 20 an bought the tank mount option. It has 6mm glass. I mounted it on the tank and I felt like it was to much. I put 3mm thick piece of plexiglass behind it for more support and I felt better about that but I ended up just hanging the light cause one this tank is getting upgraded to a bigger one soon and I just didnt fully trust the weight on the glass

Do you know if EcoTech has a minimum glass thickness to support an XR30? I can't find any info. I thought about hanging but it would be hanging like 1.5m from the ceiling and wouldn't look great. Plus I'm not sure what I could use to hang it.

I dont think I have ever seen it. I have seen people use the xr30 on smaller tanks and no issues. There probably isnt any concern but it made me feel iffy. I felt better after i braced it with the acrylic and if I had no intention of upgrading my tank i may have just left it but I decided to just hang it now and add the arms for the blades to use on it as well.

Salve, utilizzo 2 lampade a8se, possibile avere altri programmi d impostazione? Ho una vasca mita lps e sps. Grazie

I just installed 3 A8 Pro II max (or whatever order the acronyms are), and struggled quite a bit with the app and lights losing connection and l the app couldn't find my wifi ( I was sitting right next to a wifi6 router).

But after much work and swearing, I then reset the first light (5 sec push on middle button on the light), emptied the cache in the app and reset it (two options in the app), connected the first light again, updated the firmware on the light, and everything worked like a dream. Took me 10 minutes to add tge two remaining lights and set them up with tge AB+ program.
Since then I have provoked the setup by shutting the app down, unplugging the lights and power it all up again, and it's rock solid, and connects perfectly through my wifi to the lights. So much more stable with connections than the crap myAI app for my Hydra 26HD.

There is one little trick to get the timing right for the lights.
1. Set the correct time zone in the app itself.
2. Open the light in the app, click on the time and answer "yes" to updating the time. Don't pay any attention to that the time zone on the light is wrong.
3. Select "save device", and then leave the light and go back to the main page of tge app
4. Go into the light again, and when it's connected to the light, the time zone is now correct.
5. If the time itself is not correct, click on it to update it, and click "save device" again.
The time and time zone is now correct and will stay that way!
I can’t get mine to work for the life of me. Can direct link but can’t connect it to my WiFi, save device. Tried what you said, tried the Chinese version.. can’t get it to stay on
