AliExpress A8SE Reef Light

You can get the main board from the seller. There are options to buy it from some AliExpress sellers direct on the adverts selling parts for the A8 light
Cause if im not mistaken ive seen a comment in youtube telling people to put thermal paste on their A8 cause apparently he burnt out all most of his leds because he did not apply thermal paste

Now i know why, apparently if you overdrive these lights the led clusters will burn so its advisable to run it at 75 percent which is sad to be honest

On a different note…

Has anyone run both the A8SE II Max and the A8s II pro Max side by side?

Is there any difference to how the lighting looks(due to the different leds) when next to each other?

That's probably not the power supply but the led/drivers.
There is a reported blue channel factory defect where the leds are not properly soldered to the board..
This is what im experiencing

thermal paste application on the A8 Pro II - are they necessary to be applied? will it void the warranty after applying?
Of course it would void the warranty. Sellers of these lights must be loving their customers.

Warranty gone so if a problem arises don't rely on it. At best the sellers will send you instructions to replace the damaged parts and if you don't want to do you have to pay for the hassles of a return of just write off your investment.

I check in here from time to time and every other day at least, there are constant problems.

The buyers who have got lucky with a working light straight out the box and working perfectly are few and far between if any.

It's a poor light in general and not at all reliable. If it works it's good but longevity not at all known. These cheap chinese diodes are exactly that and that is why you get a gazillion of them for pennies.

If you want a temporary light, willing to write off the cost that works straight out the box with no interventions. You might get lucky.

Be prepared to do plenty of DIY, void the warranty and constantly wonder when the diodes will give up.

How long have the lights lasted for you since buying?

Was only 2 months HAHHAHAHA
Able to claim warranty from seller N get FOC part replacement? since they wont be asking you to send back the unit. will they?

After they have sent the replacement the other one had the same problem, one takeaway i can get from this is never max this light out. Its not worth it, possibility of desoldering the leds and also led burns i think most of the equipments are like that, if you want it to last dont max it out

Obviously at an additional cost and hassle for a light that does not work straight out the box.

It has many issues and with all the additional costs, DIY and hassle, not to mention longevity (2 months in the latest instance) is it really worth it? Also the recent price increase.....is it really really worth it?
