ok well, Kalk spiked my alk and ca, so i adjusted the tanks mg to get balance, thats another post for later.

I stopped dosing kalk, alk, and ca to let the tank come down some. so why is my ca not falling?

i stopped dosing when my levels were -----alk of 11.4,------ ca of 617----- mg og 1390
and ten days later im am here....see my ca is still rising why?i dose only 1 ml per day just so my pumps turn. this is a 185tg mixed reef

How much calcium do your corals usually use up? Maybe the spike made them mad so they’re not growing so much for a little while and not taking any up? Did they use a lot of calcium before? You can just do some water changes to get it down.

The calcium decline is far less (on a percentage basis) than is alk. A 2.8 dKH alk decline (like yours) is accompanied by, at most, an 18-20 ppm decline in calcium, which is near the limit of detection.

The calcium rise is likely just test error.
