Do people stop manual testing after buying an Alk Monitor such as KH Guardian, Trident, KH Director etc?

Did anyone buy one just to stop the manual testing?

Absolutely. Alkatronic here - I sometimes spot check but no more manual tests.

I test alk with a Salifert once a month or so when I replace the Alkatronic reagent and calibrate it. Ca and mag tests at the same time if I’m feeling motivated, sometimes I go a few months without testing them though.

Yes, the primary purchase reason was to reduce manual testing as much as possible. It didn’t take more than a few weeks for me to get comfortable with trusting the Alkatronic.

I have a KH guardian here. I spot test monthly just to make sure my pH probe that does the Alk testing hasn’t drifted. I do this instead of calibrating the probe monthly ;)
