When it comes to setting up a new tank do you prefer to buy systems that are already plumbed and ready to go, or do you like to design the tank yourself? Plumbing it yourself means you can really fine tune the details and make it personalized to your needs. I feel it also can save a bit of money as well, as full setups can get pricey fast.

I generally like to do plumbing myself but this time I went with a pre-plumbed setup that I just had to connect together and it was very easy to do that, and it looks really good, the real trade off though is that it’s less flexible overall… with full DIY you can plan ahead for things like fleece rollers etc, with premade you save the time and energy up front but you might have to get even more creative later to connect and fit everything you actually want

Anyway I like both

im generally a diy person even across all my other hobbies I prefer to do things myself so I can tailor things to my needs and I often find it easier to work on then prebuilt
