Highly effective as long as the solids can be exported... GFO and GFH also highly appropriate.

I currently still use SeaKlear in my tank to control phosphates. I run a mechanical filter to remove the snot left over.

I would not use aluminum sulfate. It will deplete alkalinity and the soluble aluminum will irritate corals at 5 ppm or less, as I showed in a previous article:
