Could this everyday product be causing some of our Aluminum “issues” or at the least be the reason that Al shows up on our lab results? Maybe it’s not one particular manufacturers goods leaching the metal but may be adding to the cause. Most of the solid kinds of this product has a residue around the applicator from usage that would have to get on your hand when applying the product and it’s also not the easiest thing to just wash off completely.

It’s the main ingredients in most deodorant/ antiperspirant that I have read the label on. I noticed it on the Degree* brand I use and last time I was in the drug store I looked and most major brands had these same ingredients.

I know it may not be a great deal of the element(s) but over time without something to remove the metals could they build up? Thought I’d ask and see for curiosity sake.

I had a ATI result come back with high zinc. Never figured how it is there in the tank, same with tin and aluminium. I posted about it and someone also pointed out hand lotion. I have pretty dry hands and use lotion pretty heavily but usually at night. When I work in the tank I put in gloves. However, sometimes I don't really think about it when I add a nori sheet, etc. So not perfect is what I'm saying.

I wondered if maybe that was how it is in the tank although I'm not sure. I've since tried to be better about it and it has lowered but that could also be due to water changes and better awareness of it. Really don't know but when I read this post it would not surprise me that things like this could have something show up in the tank over time. Totally unrelated but hunters know this - you don't wear scents and things like that when out in the wild.
