About a week ago I bought a recently fragged white Alveopora. I'm really liking these as it was my first time buying one. Curious for those of you that have much experience with Alveoporas, how was your success rate overall, growth rate, tank placement, what corals can be next to them etc. I'd love a little Alveopora garden, but heard they don't always play nice with each other. Any info would be welcomed.

They can and will sting other corals. If it’s extending and happy I wouldn’t move it until it’s well adjusts to your tank. If you raise it higher it might not extend as much. Same for flow increases. Not until it’s really comfortable in the tank. Pretty much same as goniopora but a little more forgiving

So overall, unless you really like them and have the space in your tank, it's best to just have one and let it grow out?

You can have many, I would just keep other corals a few inches away. They grow ”medium speed”. also. Would probably take at least a year to fill out that tile

This took almost a year to grow in and it’s a plug which is much smaller than your tile

Although I did have some struggles with finding a place it would actually open.

I keep alveopora and goniopora right next to each other with no signs of interaction. There are four in this tank (one hidden behind the rock). This was taken late in the evening but at mid day they all touch one another and also sometimes reach a rock flower anemone, mushrooms, palys and zoanthids. None have been negatively impacted by the contact and the alveo and go is have grown considerably with the largest close to volleyball size when fully open.

I keep them well away from the sps corals. They look closer in the pic than reality.

That's what I would love mine to look like eventually
Yours looks bigger than mine!

Here it is on my Goni island. It’s the only alveopora but nothing really seems upset to have it nearby

I keep 25+ Goni/alveopora in my system. Most get along with each other. They don’t like other species of coral though

What is that you have them sitting on?
