SO I didnt like my aquascape, redid the scape a few months ago and lost a nice acro colony the next day. A week later decided I didnt like the scape redid it, and was happy but yet another acro rtn'd the next day.

So recently I noticed most my montis were not extending their polyps. After watching awhile and realizing the flame angel (should have know better) was feasting away on both the monti and acro polyps I decided I had to catch him. I tried my usual traps and feedings in nets etc for a few days to no avail. I decide what the heck Ill pull the main rocks out and catch him.

Easier said then done, so out comes one rock, two rock...all the rocks. I stack them on rubbermaid lids around my tank. I stick one big rock with my biggest acro colony on a table, on a towel. Caught the flame and while I was at it removed one of my algae blennys and a damsel.

I look down and realize one of my peps jumped out and I stepped on it, flat as a pancake...

My son comes in from playing basketball, he's 10. I tell him watch out, be careful I got my corals all over the place, dont bump anything. He says no problem, want a drink? Sure grab me a coke. I am standing on a chair reaching over my tank which has a 4 x 3 footprint kinda difficult to work in. He come back in the room, Hey Dylan hand me that hose, "Sure"....as he walks by the table he bumps the big rock, knocks it off the table and it lands upside down...now my biggest acro colony is no more.....years to grow seconds to distroy.

Some days this hobby can be very very frustrating....uggggg. :sure:

These are the days I look at the tank and just want to sell it all and get out.

Sorry to hear about your loses!! Keep your head up we all go through those loses that make us want to give up. Now its time to watch another favorite coral on your wish list grow, but there is just no way around it, it just sucks.

lol Thanks, I am still trying to get the rocks set back up. Is it just me or is there a reefing law somewhere that says once you move a rock it will never go back the same way. Drives me nuts. I know one thing for sure, I will never buy a 3' wide tank again...
