Am I Doing Anything Wrong With This Chaeto?

Hello There

Added two ounces of chaeto to the tank. I have it in a shower caddy because my emerald crabs may find the chaeto tasty. What might I be doing wrong? Do I have to much in the caddy packed in etc? Looks like the bottom and middle of the caddy is not getting enough light etc.

Most likely not getting enough light on the bottom, typically when these are place in a refugium etc they are placed in a way they spin and rotate to get lighting on all sides.

Not sure you want chaeto in your DT. If parts float off it will spread around the tank. If you require macro algae in your DT there are better options.
