The purple will be one of the more agressive fish. I have kept them for many years. Although beautiful, I personally think the black tang is just too plain for my taste and would go the purple route.

I have a beautiful purple tang but he is a bully and I can't add any other fish he goes crazy i would defentily go with the black tang

Wish you were closer as i have a 5-6'' beautiful purple that i need to find a good home.. Great fish just make sure its your last to go in lol.. Blacks are cool but the purple is much better to look at imo!

Thanks for the offer. Wish I was a bit closer. I'd still take this offer for my other, a 120 mixed reef.

Purples look great up close, but from far away, you really don't see much of the details lined on their body
Personally, I'd go with both, a better contrast, but if I had a choice of one it's definitely the black tang.
Because there's nothing else in my tank that is black.

There is just something that draws me to the black tang. :tongue: It is my ultimate fish to get.
