Amonia misread?

ive been testing a small amount of amonia in my tank but i feel as though it might be a misread or bad testing kit or something as my goniopora is still wide open and ive read that if any amonia is present gonis will close? heres a pic of the goni

the API saltwater master test kit
That would explain why. API test kit usually will show some ammonia on the test. Personally, I would trash the test kit and get Salifert or Red Sea (Hanna is also a good option).

There is nothing wrong with a small amount of ammonia (0.5 ppm or less), whether real or test error. Many of us dose ammonia (I do).

I'd stop testing for it since there's nothing one should do about it.

This has more, including showing that levels needed to kill a fish are over 10 ppm:
