I had the privilege of being at a 2 day conference on coral reefs a couple years back and they were saying similar things. And having been diving on the barrier reef in the Bahamas (3rd largest in the world) it's sad to see the loss warming seas has had on them. There is much more disease, like white band, and many of the Acropora palmata and A. cervicornis that were immense are gone now. Some of the skeletons had branches as thick as a leg.
