Anemone alternative?

I just bought a long tentacled heliofungia plate coral a week ago, in hopes that it would host the two SA picasso extreme clowns that I bought at the same time. They're in quarantine together, but so far the clowns seem more interested in the pvc than anything else. Has anyone else had any experience with a long tentacled plate hosting clowns?

never had plate corals act as a host before, have had hammer and torch corals act as hosts as well as xenia and anthelia.

I can never seem to afford a bunch of anything hah. At least my rusty shroom has four babies growing. Blue is apparently lone rangering it. o_O

Man I wish I could figure out how to get notifications when I get replies. I'm working on making a trade for some coral frags, so if the plate doesn't host the clowns maybe one of the others will. A duncan, a hammer, candy cane, and a devil hand.

Out of those, hammer would be most likely imo. Though it's really hit or miss. Best success I've seen/heard is with the bta.

The clownfish will very likely kill the plate, so if you can trade or return it you should do that ASAP. Their survival rate in captivity is already basically zero - one tear to their their flesh and it is extremely unlikely they will recover, and clownfish are very rough with their hosts.

Mine started hosting this tongue coral after a few months.

They'll be in a 190g DT, after they leave quarantine. I'm not a fan of the whole "taking a walk" thing, is why I'm kinda hesitant about an anemone.

I've read it both ways. That they die easy, and that they are extremely hardy. I'm hoping for the hardy, and it's just too pretty to not try to make the effort. I guess maybe I am lucky that the clowns are ignoring it though.
