BTA do mix well but also do split and multiply

Some color variations have some history of not getting along with BTA. Your greens and CSB have been shown to have bad interactions with rose/rainbow. Running heavy carbon has been documented to help. Always remember that nems need a mature and stable system to survive. Harems seem to do better when anemone are already available with lots of feedings throughout the day

I've always wanted some but don't think they'll get along with the rose and rainbows I already have. The ones I have basically tangle with each other without issue. As far as gigs and other carpet nems, they require a ton more lighting than BTA do so I haven't made the jump.

I've never run a harem tank but after reading after actions from those who have, it seems that adding a bunch of clutch mates at one time, to the established anenome system works the best. I've tried and failed to pair multiple clowns in a rsr 250 with plenty of nems, but there has always been a senior clown or have started trouble.

Starting with young, unbounded clowns that are already used to living together should help alleviate this.

I finally got my order on some ORA orange skunk clown(always love this guys). I’m aiming about a dozen of them. As for carpet, I’ve seen carpet with bta on the forum before.

Agreed with this. Haven't done myself but most successful ones I've researched started with 30 or so clowns from the same clutch, added to a tank with nems, and feeding about every 45 minutes throughout the day.

I don't think they have bad interactions. Just that carpet are happiest with 5-10x the lighting that BTA are. Some people have their carpets at 2k par.

A lot of people have carpets with BTA's, just need to prepare accordingly.

Nah. I have my kessil 360's running at 95% and my BTA are as close as they can get to them.

I also hardly ever feed the nems. Maybe 1xper month with a small piece of krill just to keep iodine in the system. They get what they need, from the light

There's a lot that comes into play when owning anemone but don't let it discourage you. Given a mature stable tank, stable parameters and good lighting they are very easy to keep. I also don't ever directly feed mine. They catch what they can or get fed by my clowns. Best recipe for success is having a tank closer to a year old and having cipro on hand.
