Anemone box?

Does anybody use or know if anemones are fine staying in an anemone box (liking the one from Oceanbox Designs)? I know that they say they are for acclimating purposes... I am picking up a pair of clowns this week and I really enjoyed the anemone/clown symbiotic relationship in my last couple of tanks... but due to poor planning and how much coral I already currently have in my tank, there is no room for an anemone to be wandering around, stinging everything it touches. I thought about just throwing one of these boxes on the side with some rubble rock and throwing a few BTAs in there. Thoughts?

Unless there is something keeping them in there, they will probably crawl out eventually.

I assume the box will have a cover.

From a visual perspective, I don't think boxes are very eye appealing once they get covered with algae and you can't see what's inside.

Furthermore, getting the proper flow through them can be an issue, unless you can place it somewhere a powerhead can hit it.

Dang it... I feel like I have seen anemones and clownfish chilling in one of those clay pots before... I was hoping for a similar thing.

The box would not have a cover to allow for the clownfish to get in. I don't mind the look of the ones that Oceanbox sells, but that is just and opinion. They also come with perforations and slits in them too allow water movement to get through them. I also use a gyre in an SPS dominant system which I think would push plenty of flow to the anemone. My only issue is having it happy in there without a lid...

It would help. But people put nems in boxes so they don't wander about and sting things. Especially if you have very high end colonies dotted around the tank. The idea is to keep them there, so most opt for the lids. it can work, but it's hard to make sure the inmates don't escape if you don't lock the doors you know?
