I'm in the process of moving from 40G minireef to 88G RSR425.
What are the chances of losing my nems on this move. I will move all sand, LR, biomedia and water to the new tank but that will not be enough to support a 425. Or will it?

If you are moving all the fish, inverts, and biome from one to the next, the biome in the first will be the same as the next, just more room. If you do it correctly it should not be an issue.

Are you planning on cleaning the sand (if any) to prevent moving the detritus in the sand? This is where most people have problems moving tanks. Clean the sand!

rinse in salt water
To be honest I have not vacuumed my sand. My CUC have kept it very clean.
But it could use a rinse for sure

I really like Brandon's rip clean method for careful, clean moves.

The other precaution for livestock is aeration in any transfer buckets if you are as slow as I am. I stressed my whole tank moving so slowly last time I had to move it. My stupid mistake, and I'm not as healthy and quick with things anymore.

Depends on what nems you have but anything like BTAs and RFAs will do fine. They might be upset for awhile

Good trouble: Have mushrooms ever become pests in your aquarium?
