Bought a purple anemone and it secured to a rock pretty quick, however overnight it let loose and was stuck on my gyre. Looks pretty bad now. Can they recover

I would put it in a hospital tank and try to rehab it from there. Use water from display and make sure light is adequate. I would leave it on display because if it dies, it’ll pollute your tank.

Ouch, I am sorry this happened. I am worried about the same so I cover mine with simple net at night or if I leave the house. It suppresses the current a bit but it's worth it.

It looks like the mouth is still closed tight that's good. Like above said it might die and you want easy access to it if it starts turning. I would put it in a acclimation box floating in your tank until you know 100% it is going to die. Like if the mouth starts turning Inside side out or some sort of a more visible sign. Unless you have a HT set up and it should go in their. Let it just heal....its 50/50 at this point with nems and powerheads.

Wouldn’t it be a good idea to iodine dip to fight infection? How is the foot?
anemone can be cut in half, it can handle some pain :)

Thank you all for your help, I setup a small hospital tank for now (fingers crossed.) Foot looks good and still adhering to rocks or sand.

Thanks again everyone for your suggestions. Back into the hobby after about 30 years. They didn't make powerheads or Gyre so powerful back then. A lot has changed. I keep making mistakes, but thank God for Reef2Reef.
