Anemone in low light and low flow

So I got a bubble tip anemone and 2 hours after adding it went into a low light and low flow area. Is this normal? I thought anemones liked high light.

Let the anemone do its thing. Unlike corals, it has the power to move wherever it wants until it finds a spot it likes.

The anemone is stressed right now, so higher lighting and flow will stress it out even more.

The anemone will also probably shrivel up and close, but it's nothing to worry about at the moment, if the tank has proper conditions.

They will move to where they are comfortable. Let him do his thing. As long as the tank is really well established and parameters are where they need to be it will be fine and move into more light and flow.

As long as your parameters are stable, then no.

Either adjusting to tankor a behavior they display when there is too much light or water flow. also assure phosphates are Not elevated. If shriveled up, too little light

I will also mention, my experience is they anchor their foot in a whole or crack under a rock ledge and extend up into the light. I believe this naturally provides them the ability to retreat to a more protected area when threatened.

It also makes them very hard to remove!

It’s rare I find one with its foot up on top in a flat area if rock.

To tell you what the parameters are, pH:8.2, ammonia:0ppm, Nitrite:0ppm, Nitrate:15ppm, phosphate:0.05ppm
