My green bta - bleached when I got it; added to a new tank. I now know better. But, it seemed to be thriving but has gone downhill. My tank parameters have been fairly stable except for phosphates getting high, which I am addressing. Photos below- when first put in my tank, then in September which was 4 months later. After that it started to slowly withdraw and has been hiding under the ledge for about 6 weeks. Losing it’s zooxanthellae but has some pale green coloration. I keep expecting to find it dead but the tips still bubble some and it seems to close up a little. I wondered if the clownfish was irritating it - aggressive cuddler! Any ideas?

Probably the first thing I would question is the lighting. What are you running for lights? Especially considering your phosphate has been high but no major algae problems yet. First thing I thought of but maybe someone more experienced will think of something else.

65 gallon tank 24” deep AI prime lights. I lowered the lights about a week or so ago. I thought it may be hiding from too bright of lights. But it hasn’t come out. I started raising them yesterday- no change.

Yeah weird that I’ve had high phos/nitrates but no algae problems. I had that topic discussed in another thread - learned a lot & that there are multiple factors at play regarding algae growth

thanks for replying
