I just got a BTA yesterday and it wasn’t looking the greatest. Had its guts spit out for most of the day and didn’t move at all and to add on to it the cleaner shrimp was picking the hell out of it so he got moved to my other tank. Anyway I haven’t got a chance to check on him today since I’m at work but any parameters that I should pay closer attention with with this BTA. I just don’t know what makes them mad. I try to keep the salinity 1.025 Cal 450 ish Ask 8 nitrates 2-5 and phos 0 not on purpose. Lighting is a kessil a360x. Just any tips you could give me on parameters for the BTA would be great!

Your parameters are similar to mine. The only thing I see bothering it are too much flow or light. Mine is under around 250 par and moderate flow.

Yeah it’s towards the middle of the tank. So it’s around that par. I did leave my Nero 5 on the lowest setting which is 900 GPH he wasn’t grabbing onto anything so I just wanted to make sure the flow was lower so he didn’t get sucked in because I have nothing covering the powerhead. If he’s looking better when I get home I’ll ramp it back up to what I usually run. Thanks for the help

How is your nem? Guts out sounds bad. Your parametrts are good tho, if it's still alive, I would just give it time. Dont try to feed it for at least a week or 2 and dont mess with it/move it. Just let it adjust. It will wander to the flow it wants.

How old is your tank? You need to give it time to acclimate. It's probably just a temper tantrum. LOL

It will move around until it finds its happy place. Let it be.

Guts are still out. My corals were super mad about the flow so I returned it to normal. I will just leave him be and if the tank starts to smell bad I’ll pull him
