Yes the mouth can go back inside when it inflated again. I have seen it many times before.
What I meant about the water change is to the small cup. Not your entire tank. Unless it’s regular scheduled maintenance on the tank, do a water test. If out of whack levels then do a WC. But it sounds like you have a 25 gallon Nano tank?
