Bubble tips need a super stable alkalinity and ph nems are more sensitive to that then we realize they also like the alk lower on the scale depending the type but I’ve had nems do poorly in the 12dkh range and much better in the 9.5-10

How would alkalinity affect an organism that doesn't use carbonates? Not saying you are wrong, I am just curious because I have never heard that.
