4. SPLITTING is not a sign of a healthy anemone. The ability to heal from a split is a sign of a healthy anemone. Splitting/cloning is a reaction to stress and it requires alot of energy to rip yourself in two. It is easier to survive as two then it is as one.
Very interesting guys. Its amazing to me that they split due to stress rather than reproduction. I wish I could split when I get stressed so I could get more done :) haha
Anyway, keep up the information, its great to learn new stuff even after being in the hobby for 6+ years.
There are 2 genders of BTA's.Male and femal.Very rarly will you see a female split.These are the ones who get very large and 15+ inches,males are generally smaller and under 8 inches or so.
I would love to find the artical if there is any interest in this...
Here’s one:Wow. You learn something new every day! I had never heard that anemones were gender specific. I would definitely appreciate seeing some scientific literature on this.
