Every time I put a clam on a shell for my puffer. The angle fish ends up eating some. Then he starts rubbing himself on the rocks for about 2 hours. Then he stops this only happens when I throw in clam and always stopps. Today I tried not putting clam. No rubbing. Or mabye the clams have an irritant. They are those live small freshwater clams I buy about 40 and keep them alive in my freshwater tank.

Sounds like a reaction. Try rinsing the clam in a little container of tank water and see if this behavior changes
