Have you heard of anyone using an angle seat valve on their main drain?
I can get my hands on one, made solely from PVC. I have no access to a pvc gate valve and am contemplating using the angle seat valve instead of a ball valve.
You think it will work?

I have been using them for years. Keep in mind that they have a direction of flow. These are sometimes called globe valves.
Here is the one that I have now. I also used them on my previous system.

It's a beauty :)
I think I will go for it.
Is there any more maintenance on these you reckon? More or less likely to accumulate crud?

I have never touched them for any kind of maintenance. They do come apart easily if you need to clean it for some reason.
