Now some details about the stand itself.

I wanted a stand with a modern look and includes a separate electrical cabinet and cord organizing section. As this will be in our living room my wife warned me about not messing it up.:p So, I planned the whole stand accordingly. The whole stand has a 2/4 skeleton which is skinned using 1/2 inch marine grade baltic birch and walnut plywood.

First concern was to make it waterproof. To get that part done I used few layers of protection. The first layer was to use a marine grade primer which will seal the wood. I used Rust-Oleum 207014 Marine Wood and Fiberglass Primer for this purpose. Its generally used for boats and a renowned product in the market. For the inside paint I choose Rust-Oleum 206999 Marine Topside Paint, Gloss White, 1-Quart which is again a topside paint for boats. Together these 2 primer and paint turned out really well. Now for the bottom pane I wanted some tray like bottom incase my sump overflows during cleaning. So I made a raised panel using some trim pieces and used two interesting products to make it a complete waterproof option. I used Flex shot and Flex seal liquid to seal the gaps and made a rubberized coating over the complete bottom part. This gives me a full protection against any water spillage from the sump.

Here are some pictures during the build.

@Anirban - darun lagche !!! Oshombhov sundar hobe ei tank ..

On a side note - Am sure you and the tank maker knows way more and hopefully with 26 inches high and no center bracing , there won’t be any bowing or deflection . Reason I say is because my friend got a 24 inch acrylic tank built with 3/4 inch and no bracing and it bowed in a month resulting him to get it redone with bracing .
Hopefully it was a mistake on the tank maker and yours will be perfect .

Regards,
Abhishek

Next I skinned the tank with the plywoods which was not that complicated. Everything inside is marin grade baltic birch and the outside is grade 1 walnut. Here is the picture after skinning.

I decided to use dark walnut danish oil for the finish with a coat of weatherproof glossy polyurethane. For the doors the inside is primed and painted using the rust oleum primer and paints but the outside is painted using Behr white mocha paint after priming it with the rust oleum primer.

Dhonyobad Abhishek.

How long was the tank? I actually discussed it with quite a few people including James from envision acrylic and all said 3/4 with euro bracing is fine for this length.

Wow,

That's a lot of water. With that length and width you need bracing and thickness both. The builder should have mention that even before start.

For flow in this tank I was very confused. My mp 40 will not fit in the side of the overflow so I went through a series of options. At last I have 2 options left either gyre XF350 or a panta rhei ecm42. Although I wanted the panta rhei but I was already broke by all other expenses. So I got a XF 350. But I will get a panta rhei once the funds are little settled. I will mount the XF 350 over the overflow and coat the magnet with flexseal and then putting it in a sanwitch bag. Abhishek said its working for his hydrowizard magnet so it should work for mine too. Now, recently I was reading a lot about the coralvue Hydros wave engines and it seems a nice way to control all your pumps and clear the wire clutter. So, I decided to get one and run my return pumps and wave maker on it. I am going to use 2 reef octopus varios pumps (6 and 8) on this tank for redundancy. The dual 1 inch returns will be also equipped with VCA RFA nozzles which should mix up the flow in the tank. I will review the Hydros once I set it up but the first look is pretty impressive and well build. I will post few pictures of it later today.

The next equipment in the list will be the Fijicube sump.

You don't need to coat the gyre magents with anything. Mine is in my overflow and has been for about 2 years now. I actually emailed maxspect before I got the gyre knowing I wanted on the center tower style overflow. They told me either magnet can be fully submerged with 0 problems.

The stand is coming along but I want to share the skimmer. I bought this from Adam at battle coral @Battlecorals couple of years back when I started planning this reef. Its a deltec 1500i. Its a beast by its size and I hope it will perform like one. Adam guided me really well with this one. It also come with a manual neck cleaner.

Great choice! The most silent and best functioning skimmer I’ve ever owned. Will probably buy another one for my new build.

Wow...you made my day. I was on the edge of coating it. But its good to know that I don't have to. Thanks a lot.

We are making progress. The stand and tank are upstairs now and I am working on finishing the details on stand before putting the tank on. Did some in cabinet lighting and some decorative lighting on the cabinet. All these lights can be controlled through Alexa. Next, I will do some manifold plumbing and my bean animal return plumbing.

Finally the tank is on the stand. I finished installing the doors and magnetic catches on the door. Leak tested the sump and skimmer and they are looking fine. Today I started with some overflow plumbing and dry fitting.

Here is the tank and stand together.

Tomorrow I will post some pictures of the dry plumbing and some detail about my Fiji sump. This build will be unique in the sense that it will have some features from some best vendors in the business. I will explain why I choose them and why I like them. Tomorrow will be my sump. It a Fijicube 36 gen 2 sump.
