Another Alkalinity post

Hey guys, so I’m new to reefing. So far so good, I’ve gotten a lot down but alkalinity. Right now it’s at about 6 dkh and I was wondering if there was any way to raise it that didn’t involve me going out and buying something to dose it with. Anything would be great help. Thanks.

Water changes are easy.

Yup, doing a few larger water changes can get it back up. Or if you have some baking soda you can mix that with some rodi and add it. That’s what I do right now.

You will want to chose sodium bicarbonate, that’s baking soda and it will tell you how much to dose. As a general rule of thumb, you don’t want to dose more that 1 dkh per day.

I use that same calculator, I like it alot. I use baking soda and add it to my top off.
