Greetings reefers,
So my wife decided to buy me a BTA. When I saw it I could tell it was already in the process of splitting. So I acclimated it to my tank and placed it in a smaller tank on my system. Of course by the next day the splitting process was very obvious and completed by the next morning.

One of the splits looks completely healthy. Has moved to it's "happy place" just under a ledge. The other pittiful looking one is in the same spot post split. It inflates in the evening and starts to deflate as the lights ramp up. It also doesn't seem to be healing as fast as the other one. Neither have fully formed mouths yet. I did place something to create shade today for the pitiful looking one to see if that helps. First picture is it starting to close as lights come on. Second is about 2 hours into ramp up. Third is the other men that's healthy. Any other ideas?

System been running for 2 years.
Total system size 160g
They're currently in a 10g I have attached to my system so I have more control over lighting and flow.
Par at location of nem-325
Lights on at 8am, 4 hour ramp, 4 hr full, 4 hr ramp down.
Flow at location light to moderate as they heal.
Temp-76
Salinity-1.025
ph-8.1
Calcium-400
dkh-9
Magnesium-1250
Phosphate-0.002
Iodine-0.08
Ammonia-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-10
Hope that's all the parameters you need.

I might suggest a 3-4 day acclimation period where you initially dial the lights down to 50%.
So bring lights down 50% for 3-4 days. Then slowly ramp back up to full?

When I put it in the tank it decided to split on the top rock. Maybe 5" below water line. The healthy one decided it was happy attaching to the underside of the top rock and peaking out the side.

Not sure of the other wants to move but doesn't have the energy. I watch it closely because I thought it was dying. But starts to look healthy when. Main lights are near end of cycle and moons come on.

Or even 50% for a day or two to see if that has any effect. You can always try gently moving it, but more often that not they’re just going to find another spot anyway.

I'll try it and give updates
