Got a Seneye last week. It's reading 120 Lux and 0 PAR centered under a ReefLed 160s and 5 inches down. It's been fairly consistent. Registering 0 Lux when the lights are off, so I know it's minimally functional. Seneye's response is that sometimes a led will register Lux but not PAR due to wavelength differences. This Seneye has never read PAR above 0, which does not explain the low lux reading. Any thoughts much appreciated.

As far as I'm concerned their LUX readings are off anyways.
Best to just ignore it.

120 lux is like 1.5 PAR

Now 2 more things. First personally the Seneye usb cable port can get wonky.
Numerous times I've needed to replug/ restart it to get a par reading at all.
Win tablets are the worst. Dell laptop next.
Oddly my main tower pc never has this issue.
Matter of fact it's how I confirm the par part is actually still working

Secondly the sensor is very central focused
so going off the light axis can change the reading a lot.

If you are under a bright light and get zero par you need to play the on/off game.

Thanks. This thing has been driving me nuts. I figured out that the device has to be positioned horizontally to face the light source in order to read accurately, which, considering that it comes with a suction cup that requires vertical mounting, seems counter-intuitive. I got one of those sleds, now attached to a rod, that allows true measurement.

Me to at times.
In it's defence, not the only usb device to be unstable.
Hope you get it functioning.
