I'm considering adding a small Two-Spot Bristletooth Tang to my tank, but the last thing I want to do is upset my older Tangs.
I've had these guys together for about 6-7 years, and recently transferred them from a 120g to my new IM EXT 200g Peninsula (6 foot):

-1 Naso Tang (female)
-1 Yellow Tang
-1 Swallowtail Angel (female)
-1 Chromis
-1 Ocellaris Clownfish
-1 Aiptasia-Eating Filefish

I added these guys to the 200g about 2 months ago:
-1 Lawnmower Blenny
-1 Diamond Goby
-1 Yellow Flank Fairy Wrasse
-1 Two-Barred Rabbitfish

I would love another Tang, specifically a small Two-Spot Bristletooth, but as I said, I don't want my older Tangs to be stressed and aggressive. I figure they're both likely on the back end of their life anyway. For the near future, I only have the one tank. There is no aggression between anyone in there now. There are corals and hermit crabs too.

Thoughts? Experience? Other suggestions?

There’s going to be some action, but I think that will work.
I’m think maybe the two spot will like the top of that chain.

Tangs can live 20+ years unless you got them at an older age i'd guess there is still plenty of life in your tangs. try an acclimation box if you are worried. How big is your Naso?

Hmm, I guess I was thinking closer to 10 years. They were both about 1 year when I got them 6-7 years ago. You're probably right though.

Think you'll be fine.

My tank was pretty loaded with tangs, maybe 10 plus...

When I introduced the Gem there was a huge Black, smaller purple, black hybrid, 3 yellows, purple for Zebra. tangs. I kept him in a large eggcrate box for well over a month before letting him out after QT. Nobody cared...

When I added the Achilles Hybrid I was also super worried since there was already an Achilles in the tank. It ended up being all for nothing and they were friends.

Tank was super long and had lots of flow and rock work, so if needed fish could get away from issues.

So the two-spot may bully the Naso and YT?
Iam not sure “bullying” but each time I add one, the hierarchies are tested and may need change.

To me, bully bothers non stop and may pin or bite.

I have 8” blue, 7” sailfin, 5” bristhtooth, and 5” yellow tang in 180g for years.

Even now there’s some flashing.

I think your add will work

You should not worry about your larger tangs get stressed, rather you should worry more about the older ones stressed or kill the new, smaller and less agressive clowns that you add at this time.
