Purchased second hand in August 2019, this 55g tank was originally a freshwater set up. Livestock that came with it was a lone occillaris, a bangaii, a blue tang, about 6 hermit crabs, 3 peppermint shrimps and more aptasia than you could poke a stick at... as well as a decent amount of liverock.
Parameters were shot. Super high nitrates, phosphates and moderate amonia. Few coral skeletons... lots of green hair algae and bubble algae.

Blue tang died on the 40 minute car ride home. Honestly I’m surprised she lived as long as she had.

Clownfish and bangaii were quarantined while tank was set up again and aiptasia was delt with. One. Entire. Bottle. Of aiptasia exit later. And 6 weeks cycling I added the fish back in. All seemed fine.

Tank has no sump. Came with eBay 2ft white/ blue led light, no brand heater, tunze 9001 protein skimmer being run inside the tank like an internal filter.

After trawling multiple sites for second hand equipment we upgraded. Now runs a large aqua one canister filter. 1 6000l sun sun wave maker, 1 6000l tunze wavemaker. Aqua one hang on protein skimmer. Aqua one heater. 4ft blue planet customisable led 2 channel light as well as the cheap eBay light.

Most recent pics of side on view.

more later.
