I have had a pair of stocky anthias for going on eight months and they have been doing wonderful... until very recently. One of the pair has become extremely bloated. She shows no outward signs of distress and no scales are raised, she is just BIG. Over the last week and a half, she has gotten progressively bigger. She is swimming normally, eating normally, and otherwise healthy.

Any suggestions as to what the issue may be? I am leaning toward constipation, but I thought that she would eventually lose her appetite. No such luck there.

Could be something as simple as constipation, or as complicated as a tumor/growth. I would try the "pea trick" to relieve the constipation. Feed her a peeled boiled pea (or as many as she'll eat).

Can I use cooked frozen peas? Or do they have to be fresh? I can’t find fresh
