Anthias ID?

Bought as tricolor. I've been saying red belted but really have no idea. Any thoughts?

They don't look like bicolor I agree. How big are they? Red belted is a good guess. They could also be carberryi unless they're bigger than 3 inches or so.

They are right about 3". I couldn't really capture it in these pics but the back half has some yellow and when one of them starts rushing around a red triangle forms on its tail.

That's what I was thinking too but mine don't have the red belt as of yet.

One has a hint of the belt. These guys may be hybrids(or juveniles)??? good luck:D

Pseudanthias rubrizonatus. The red tips on the caudal are the queue for that. Those are mature females. At that stage they may begin acting as males before looking like males.

P. rubrizonatus, kashiwae, and marcia are all closely related and similar looking.

With the striping happening on the caudal peduncle, I'm definitely in agreement with P. marcia.
