Okay, I've been around a little while, and have had my share of fish over the years, but I find I have a specimen who was not properly identified.

He's the last of a set of five Anthias I got as Dispars. One by one, they died or just disappeared, until.just one remained. With no competition, it matured to a male, and it does not look like a Dispar. It has a lyre-shaped tail, not forked, and the coloration is not what a Dispar would display. Not evident in the photos (3 year old phone camera) is the orange line running from the mouth to the pectoral fins.

Anyone have any idea?

hutchii maybe? i think the red is supposed to be closer to the eyes though

Is this like yours .. it’s hard to tell in photo but it looks the same
