It would be difficult since they already have an established pecking order. I would go a male if there isn't one already or a female that is substantially larger.

There currently both females but one is morphing into a male

I would go a large female if at all possible. What species of anthias is this? And how large is the tank?

I would stick with those two tbh. Last time I tried a trio and introduced them at the same time they still killed off one. Beautiful fish though!

Okay and yeah they are. I love how much the one has changed in color and shape

Purple queen anthias and 75g

Really, have you had them for a while? I'm a long time anthias keeper, and have had no success with these. Not sure I've actually known anyone who has.

Some people have, but they usually only eat rotifers or cyclopeezes or baby brine. Getting them to eat large food is the main difficulty.

Agreed! Tried a couple of times. Could keep them in QT with almost continuous feeding of tiny stuff, but none of them ever took anything larger. Getting them to survive in the display beyond a month or tow proved impossible. That's why I asked how long the OP has had them. I currently have five Evansi in QT and have been able to get them into brine so far - though they're not as tough as purple queens.

That's good then. None of mine, and I mean none of them, ate Mysis. Some would take cylopeeze or rotifers, but many ate nothing at all. Can you share a picture?

Meant as a joke to a response that I though you were joking about, guess not. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence so I was curious to see a picture of your anthias. What else would it be?
