I have a chance to get my first blotchy that's quite large , around 2.5" at a reasonable price. But I have way better experiences w coral than I do with fish from a retail store. This fish was transhipped but has been in qt for about 3 weeks and eats like a pig FYI. Was just wondering what ppls experiences have been w them. Their success rate? If they are shy?

One of my personal favorite fish. They can be shy at first but tend to stay out in the open after time. They are not super active like many of their high energy "cousins" and don't need to be fed constantly. That said mine kind of reminds me of a bull dog that follows me around the tank always wanting a treat. I say go for it!

HOW MUCH DOES A FISH’S FEEDING REQUIREMENTS AFFECT YOUR STOCKING DECISIONS?

  • Not at all. Feeding demands don’t limit my stocking choices
