I’ve been working on this for about a week now because I’ve really been trying to get some arches, caves, tunnels, shelves, asymmetry, etc. down to a T lol. Any feedback on this aquascape? I used the MR Coralline color for foundation rock because I accidentally ordered the wrong color but it’ll all look the same eventually.

P.S. sorry for the mess, currently rearranging my office space plus well you know.. aquascaping is hard 😅😂

I like it alot. It's kind of hard to grasp the size of the caves in the picture though

Thanks! I think maybe the smallest cave or “gap” is about 2-3 inches apart. I kept the size of the bigger cave dwelling/perching/hiding fish in mind into consideration cus I don’t want them to get stuck!

What size tank is that going in? Only reason why I asked is your title noted nsa which I am assuming you mean negative aquascape. Negative, as in little or as few rock as possible.

Only thing I would comment on is flow. Try to picture today, bare, tomorrow, with some frags, and 5 years from now colonies (if successful - goals).

One more note - fish do not really feel comfortable with negative aquascapes. They need places to break chase, sleep, retreat, etc. Some more than others.

In any case you get the idea. My suggestion is really on flow and the challenges along with fish. All the best.

It’s a 40 gallon breeder tank! Right now the rock is about 30lbs-35lbs since we used most of it except a few small chunks here and there. I might add more to it, and maybe NSA was the wrong word for it but I wanted to have some negative spaces for it to look more clean but I made sure there were plenty of shadows and caves and tunnels to make sure they can hide and perch. The only thing I wanted to avoid was making a rock wall or something too clunky looking. I also made sure to have plenty of holes to put frags in! I appreciate the feedback though, I actually didn’t know fish didn’t feel comfortable in NSAs. Thank you!

i like it, i did one, it was SOOOOOOO much work. if i had a magic wand, i'd make it with pins somehow so i can disassembe it. if you still have time. might want to consider it. the way mine is now, i can't take out a rock to tend to a coral. or dip it. i have to break off the coral and reattach.
