Hi there!

After I turn my pump back on after feeding flakes of some sort of white particles fly around the tank. It almost looks like white fish flake food, but I feed pellets and shrimp. I have filter socks, and a skimmer, but it still gets all over the tank and the fish try to eat it, sorry for the poor quality photos.

It is difficult to see. I once shredded a bit of a sponge growing on my pump, when I turned it back on and it looked like small white peaces flying around. Have you tried taking the pump out and have a look for any dirt or living critters settling at / before the pump ? Maybe someone with more reefing experience has other ideas what it may be.

Photos under white lights?

Pump startup can work loose detritus and other stuff in your return pump chamber or in your return lines. It then gets moved into your display tank.
