One of the branches of my Green Abrolhensis Staghorn has been getting this white, soft, puffy growth against the skeleton for the last week. The other branches are fine. My parameters are all normal, the only thing is my alk has been dropping, so I’m increasing AFR and dosing sodium carbonate to keep it around 8dKH. It’s soft and mushy to the touch? The polyps are extending out of it.

Normal branch right next to the weird one.

I decided to do some coral surgery today. I really don't want to cull this guy, and since he is the only one affected AND the only acro, I figured I'd give aggressively trimming him down a try.

I removed the branch that was affected, way past where the infection was too. I then put it in an iodine dip to hopefully kill anything bad for 15 minutes and mounted him back in the tank.

He is REALLY MAD right now, sliming everywhere 🙂 I'll have to see what happens, I hope that was it and he heals up and continues to grow for me!
