Hey my GSP has been closed the last couple days and I really have no idea why since its been fine for a month and my SPS and other more difficult corals are just fine.

My parameters are...
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: under 5
PH: 8
KH: 10
Calcium: 420
Phosphates: 0.2
Salinity: 1.026

Any idea what could be the problem?
Thanks, Dominic

Flow is one possibility. Nitrate Under 5 could be another possibility.

They do well with a bit higher nitrate. Otherwise it’s probably just sulking because something annoyed it. They will do that for days at a time and then come back.
Its by my rainbow bta but I don't think its being stung, should I just leave it alone? Yesterday it was closed in the morning, open in the afternoon, and closed at night.

My nem closed up really small, ive never seen it this small before. If the GSP is annoyed could it have released a toxin?

Inadequate flow, lights too bright or mulm (build up ) on the surface. Blow gently with a turkey baster and you will see it if present.

By the time everyone figures out to much flow not enough flow, nitrates etc. A good water change could have been done to save this coral. It could be anything that has caused it, do a water change before this coral dies.... then try to figure out the rest... when in doubt just do a water change you may never know why. either way he is not happy try to save him with clean water... j.s.

That's good, I'm just thinking what's best for your coral. We all have opinions but we all don't have all the answers. Every tank is different. Even forgetting to wash hands before putting them in a tank can put pollutants in the tank. So a water change is always best to try to save him. The best of luck to you. I hope he survives.
