taking a break from reefing for 18 months to do some traveling and other life stuff.
playing around with the idea of a 310 gallon tank for a FOWLR and could make a fish room in the basement. anyone know of any 200+ gallon poly bins that would work for this?

I know there are the Rubbermaid stock tanks just seeing what else is out there...

I guess the point would be to add 75% more H2O volume to the system.

I use a ‘bulk box’ from them for 2 of my systems, 350g and 650g… I think that it’s about 150g, but they should have larger.

I’m prepping to move to my new home soon, so bought a 3rd one to be able to set up holding tanks at new house, to make the move easier.
Think I’ve had the first 2 for ~7 yrs (?)… purchased 3rd about year ago… works great, easy to drill for 1.5” pvc bulkheads.

so good stuff then Eh? know of anything else?

Best you can get,

...or feed troughs at tractor supply to avoid paying for shipping if you have one somewhat close to you.

yeah I was thinking of the rubbermaid stocks tanks but my little fish room in the basement would fit a square better. depending on price point I might have to get the 150-300 stock tank.

edit:I would like to foam board insulate the sump to keep energy cost as low as possible.

nice I 'll look into them for sure. look slike a good option depending on price point. I am playing around with the idea of a plywood sump too. I have a nice pice of glass I can use just need the wood, fiberglass and pond shield. IDK prob more work and mosy than its worth. just thinking of a loafe build with possible basement sump.

Wood & plywood is expensive at current market. Those bins at Tractor Supply will be your cheapest bet if you pick it up yourself.

The rectangular bulk bins my pictures show and @albano uses are great and can be found at reasonable cost but the truck freight kills any deal often exceeding cost of the items.

I faced similar issue recently when I needed bins for AWC station. Freight was more than the bins. I got lucky and found a supplier who was willing to box it and UPS it at $80 bucks. Came in perfect condition - rest is history.

That’s funny! I tried to look thru old messages on Manhattan Reefs to see who I got them from!
Definitely a good buy for me, work great as sumps.
Thanks again!

LOL, to be honest - I should have kept them! :)

Moving with these was a breeze and a disaster without them when I bought a house and moved again.

I hear ya… I’m using the newest one for the temporary holding system at my new house. This pic is of my new stand for my 200g tank, over that sump
