I have a hitch for a cart I pull on my little Kubota. Lights are definitely useful!
We've got a little Rubbermaid trailer for carrying tools, yard cleanup, whatever... and a tow behind spreader for fertilizers, weed control, bug and grub control, etc. Having a tow hitch is a pretty handy thing. Wasn't expensive, I got the people I bought it from to throw it in on the deal, but they had to order it. Should be here soon.

Lights? Well, I've got lights on my tractor and my four wheeler. Those are useful. I've had to push trees out of the driveway after dark with the tractor, and running somewhere on the four wheeler after dark isn't uncommon. My old Craftsman had headlights, too... but I don't think I ever used them. Mowing after dark? Not me, thanks. Not sure I can justify headlights for the Ferris, beyond 'they look cool' ;)

If you'd have said 10 years ago that I'd _ever_ spend nearly 10k on a lawn mower, I'd have said you were nuts.

So true. Congrats it's an awesome machine!

I went to HD to upgrade my lawnmower I was deciding between Honda/Toro - I got the Honda. Hey my lawn is not acres but sq ft. hahaha

I have a John Deere 14PZ 50 th Anniversary model, small yard small lawnmower. This lawnmower is pre mass produced JD's. It puts every blade of grass in the bag, always.

I had the experience of using this lawnmower. Unfortunately, I don't own it. I'm waiting for the good Santa to give it to me for Christmas :D. I checked out the zero-turn capability. It feels like a go-kart on the lawn. The Ferris IS2100Z can go up to 10 miles. And it feels very smooth while riding. It feels like the manufacturers stole the suspension from Honda. Now I have to mow without it, which forces me to learn how to perfectly mow my lawn using various methods trimthatweed.com. It's suitable for general development, although it's nice to have a lawnmower do 90% of the work for you.

Love my Ferris. 3 years old, running strong.

My yard is too small or such a nice mower, I do have a Honda with the plastic deck, 9" wheels and 2.0 motor. I watch lots of video on lawn care, I just re seeded with GCI seed for my Fescue lawn, looking sharp.

Since this old thread came back around... thought I'd post a shot I took from the mower a few months back. Not much mowing going on around here this time of year :D

I have fond memories from childhood of my Great Grandmother, well into her 80's, still mowing her front yard all summer with a reel mower. Ok, it was a small yard, but there she was, every three days or so, pushing that old reel around. Grass always looked great.

Yeah they make some real nice ones today but it’s the same concept….including mowing the lawn every other day.

I'll jump on this thread necro ;) I bought a walker S14i this year for my large residential yard. I got tired of box store throwaway mowers that did a crap job and always plugged up the grass catching tube. I love my new walker - it destroys fall leaves and always makes a great cut in any conditions. Ya it was expensive - but I figure I'll have it forever and why not? So nice having a quality mower...
