Do protein skimmer neck cleaners really work?

Really neat article! Now to add yet another item to my never ending "Reef 'Needs' List".

I actually wish I had one. But for the cost of them. I have to clean my little skimmer every 4 or 5 days. It gets FUNKY nasty. Omg it's awful.

I have a neck cleaner on mine. It really cuts down on how often I have to clean out the skimmer. But when I do clean it out, it looks much like that first picture that showed......nasty!

My Skimmer is full of stomatella snails and it stays clean as a whistle ... does that count??

I have a swabbie on mine and love it. I have always been a lazy reefer so I'm glad I don't have to worry about cleaning the skimmer so much. The swabbie is very nasty when I do clean it though.

I use the vertex one since it matches the skimmer I have. I make it turn on 2 times a day for 3 mins

They really do make alot of sense a clean neck skims way better. Ever notice it seems to skim the most on the day you clean it.
