If you dont have SPS, there is no reason why you just dont start dosing hydrogen peroxide at night after your lights go off. Start 1ml per 10 gallons, and if needed, increase weekly by an additional ml per 10 gallons up to 3ml per 10 gallons max. There are no potential negatives to your biofilter dosing h2o2 that low, and no harm to your fish or coral. You may also reduce any possible fish pathogens floating around in your tankI am having a mild algae problem. It is just in the early stage. I know a blackout should work because moving something to put an area in dark shade kills it within a day or two. But I have been seeing people say that only if an infestation is really bad you should do a blackout. Is there some reason I shouldn't just do one now? My tank is all soft corals and the parameters are fine.
