I've never seen these little white worm-like things before this morning. I feel like I only saw them in the first place because the backup battery that my tank is plugged into shut off for some reason for about an hour and when I came to turn it back on I saw these all over the glass. As soon as the light hit them they started to scurry away like roaches.

They are as small as full grown copepods but slither around and move like a worm. Here are some pictures of them and a couple images of it under a microscope. It kind of got flattened out by the glass cover due to how big it is. I just want to know can I ignore them, are they harmless, or should I do something to get rid of them?

I did see a few older posts about them but no one could identify them at that time apparently so I was hoping maybe someone would know what they are now.

first thought would've guessed copepods. but the microscope images definitely don't look the case.

not sure what it could be. google lens doesn't help much, but did point towards maybe dino's, or phyto/zoo plankton.
