hi everyone, I am looking for some inputs as i need to buy a light for my new 93g setup. tank dimension is 30x30x24 barebottom and some rocks

i had a lot of success with sps with T5 in my previous tanks (75g and 120g). I am going to setup a 93g pretty soon and it will 99.9% sps
I am looking to buy a light for the 93g cube and wasn't sure the 8x24w is going to be enough. no LED suggestion please
thank you so much

I knkw its alot of wattage being 8 lamps and all, but I dont think that wattage per lamp is going to be good enough for your tank. Id look for 54w lamp size fixtures.

I think it would be perfect. With the 30" tank your kind of stuck with 24" t5. If you center that above the tank you should be good to go with just about any coral you want anywhere. Specifically if it's a ATI fixture. I think they may be the only major company that put that size out. There are a few lesser makers too but even with those as long as you use quality bulbs you will be ok unless of course the reflectors are just garbage.

i do not think I want to put a 4 ft light fixture on a 2.5 feet tank (cube is 30x30x24).

Dont want it sticking out any? I just dont think that light will penetrate that deep of a tank well enough.

I have a 24" 8 bulb ati hybrid now and before it I had an 8 bulb sun power. I had taken 2 bulbs out at one point and grew acros just fine.

In a 24" deep tank?

Yea I have a 93 marineland cube. The new hybrid I have been running at about 70 percent with only blue leds just last month turned it up to 90 percent. I have the light hanging about 12" above the water line. I have a milli growing on the sandbed right now just fine.

thanks everyone. just placed an order of the 8x24w dimmable. if needed it, I will add one LED strip to boost it a little.
I have a 15% discount coupon to use and it's going to expire today at the end of today. just did not want to wait any longer
thanks everyone for the inputs.
