Anyone know about refrigerators? (reefing-adjacent)

I'll make sure to leave some space for a Heineken for you when you visit, and you can confirm to @Marco_99 that I have a real office where real work sometimes happens!
There is no doubt that office is real. Real interesting that is 😂 (work being done is highly questionable at best) Nonetheless be Careful @luis angel, rumor has it JoJo’s “Top Men” greet you at the door before entering, one of which wears a nitrile glove (that’s not for corals) and the other has a big Maglite (again not for tank inspections). I would probably recommend planting an AirTag in your left boot in the event you end up “seeing too much” 😂 That place is some serious business from what I’ve seen

Was it on its side for a while? They should always be stored and transported vertically otherwise the coolant shifts out of place.

The oil can leave the compressor an run into the coils if they are stored on their side, but if all you did was tip it to get it through the door, that wouldn't be the issue.

Had it on its side for about a half-hour drive...

At least a month.
The recommendation is 24 hours... lol, you are well past that. It is unlikely that it being laid down is at issue. Did it ever get cold when you plugged it in, or sound like it was running normalish? Could be that it has a super slow leak and is low on charge and was running hot. Those thermal overloads will pop for sure in those conditions.

Sounded like it was running intermittently, never for a very long time, I'd say.

I like the idea of fixing it, but also dislike the idea of something going wrong and either electrocuting me or causing a fire. Might be a cut-your-losses and try again situation. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I used to do commercial refrigeration when i was younger, so most of my stuff was a lot more heavy duty, but i did do a couple consumer fridges. They were sentimental/unique though, like a 50's model Coca-Cola fridge, a kegerator, and a red-bull minifridge or 2. That said, if it does need charged or a compressor, unless you can do that yourself it usually is going to cost more, and be more hassle than getting a new one. Unless you are attached to that one, try a 3in1 if you really want to give it a try, if that doesn't work, I wouldn't put any more energy into it. That is just my .02.
