Hi all went on a trip to France to a catfish lake
Ended up catching 3 cat fish , 102lb , 48lb and 36 lb plus 50+ carp
Thought I'd share a picture or 2.....
European wels catfish the 102lb was a monster and took over 15 mins to land in the middle of the night
First 2 pic are the 102lb or 46+kg
Than the 36lb and 48lb
My family think I'm a nutter for travelling to another country and fishing for a week but I love it o_O
Also couple pics of my tank seeing as we are a saltwater community lol

Man those are monsters. I have traveled out of the country to fish more than once. Don't tell my wife though she thinks it's just a beach vacation to paradise lol.

You could save some miles and go fishing for blue catfish. The tidal Potomac in Maryland / DC has plenty of large ones, even in the tidal basin at the monuments.

Look likes the guy lives in the UK.

Those are impressive cats. I used to fish for flat heads down in Arizona, not much over 15 lbs, but the state record was 54 lbs.

You better stop playing with those baby fish!!;Facepalm

Those things are monsters.... Did you get to see any eat pigeons??

When I fished flatheads in Arizona , my buddy told me it had to be lively bait. We would seek out the bait stores that had the big waterdogs (juvenile tiger salamanders) and we would try to catch the biggest green sunfish we could get, usually not bigger than your hand.

One time we carried two 5 gallon buckets full of water and bait a couple miles down this small canyon stream to the Salt River. We spent the night on the beach with rods tied to our feet. Earlier in the day we had snorkelled this pool....there wasn't a single bait sized fish in the entire pool, except for the protected backwaters where there were smaller catfish. We saw one 3 lb channel cat and a few big carp. My buddy was bold enough to swim down to the bottom of the pool and look under the ledges, but couldn't see a thing.

We pulled our many flats and the once channel cat that night, biggest flat was 15 lbs. We hiked out two full buckets of fillets.

Another night on the same river I hooked up twice and broke off, the second time I was sure I was snagged on bottom.....my buddy finally caught that fish at 1am with both my hooks in it. That was another 15 lb fish.

Thanks guys

Nope didn't see any eat any pigeons but I did notice that any ducks that landed on the lake would only stay for a minute or 2 than get spooked and fly off

From what the owner of the lake was telling us there's a few 150+lb cats in that lake so a duck would be a light snack lol
Funny thing is I caught all the cats on Spanish chorizo sausage, believe it or not great cat bait lol
